Dusk is well known for being probably the best time to target big perch and the proof was in the pudding for Mark Hewett as he banked this stunning 4lb 7oz specimen from the River Lea.
He was fishing with his friend Oli, and the pair ventured out in Mark’s boat – The Purist – which enabled the pair to stay mobile throughout the day. They’d both caught plenty of fish throughout the day, but the larger ones started showing just as the sun began to set. The 4lb 7oz fish was taken on a paternostered livebait, fished 1.5ft off bottom. It was also part of an impressive double take, with the pair also having a fish of 4lb 4oz in the net at the same time.
Well done Mark!
