Lewis Mahoney has been putting the short windows of angling opportunity at his disposal to the best effect on the River Lea, with this 16lb specimen coming just a few weeks after he landed another cracker weighing 15lb 11oz.
Both fish were taken on pellet hookbaits, loose feeding a small amount of the same over over the top. Lewis started receiving a few knocks on the tip just as the light was fading, so knew there was fish in the swim, and the rod then flew round just after dark. After he connected, the fish plodded upstream slowly and buried itself in streamer weed multiple times before Lewis was able to slip the net under it.
Well done Lewis!
