Whilst southern stillwaters generally produce the biggest bream, Leicester angler Lee McManus proved that specimens can be caught further north with this 16lb 14oz slab from a midlands gravel pit.
Lee has great form with the species, reporting huge bream near enough every season. This fish was caught over a very small hump around 80 yards out. Accuracy was pivotal, and he baited over the top with just four spombs of feed. A 12mm boilie fished on a short hooklink proved to be the successful hookbait.
Well done Lee!
