“After spending most the day cooped in his car with the heating on full blast, he braved the banks as the light started to fade”
Grayling are well known to be one fish that will happily feed in the harshest and coldest of conditions, and whilst that can be a blessing on some occasions, on others it takes some serious drive to keep fishing.
But that’s exactly what Laurence Skinner did on a freezing day on a big Scottish river, ending his quest for a three-pounder with this specimen, weighing 3lb exactly.
After spending most the day cooped in his car with the heating on full blast, he braved the banks as the light started to fade. Trotting white maggot, he hooked the fish at the bottom of a long run before slowly getting it moving towards the waiting net.
Well done Laurence!
