“The fish just kept taking line and took 10 minutes to land..”
The long standing barbel record at the famous Throop fishery on the Dorset Stour was beaten in the final days of the season, with this 16lb 5oz fish by local angler, Keith Humphreys.
He told us “After feeding a small amount of hemp and 4mm pellet, I presented a paste wrapped dumbbell over the top, and connected with the barbel after a bite on my downstream rod.
The fish just kept taking line and took 10 minutes to land, I knew she was a good fish, but when I lifted the net and felt the weight of the fish, I had to rest her back in the water to compose myself!” The fish was weighed and witnessed by a senior bailiff, and Keith’s scales were checked at Ringwood Tackle.
