A pike session on a stillwater in the Northwest didn’t start well for Manchester angler, Joe Parody, after he slipped over on the way to his swim and snapped the foot off one of his reels.
However, when he landed this immaculate PB pike of 30lb 9oz, the reel was soon forgotten..
Legering a sardine, he had a run mid-morning and hooked the fish that hung deep and held firm. At one point during the fight it snagged Joe, but by offering a bit of slack line and changing the angle of attack he freed the fish that burst from the water like a tarpon. His friend told him to take it easy, and eventually the pristine fish was his.
Well done Joe!
