One of the keys to specimen fishing can be travelling to find your target fish, but occasionally they’re much closer to home.
That’s what James Hague found on a recent trip, when he managed this 16lb 14oz PB bream from his local North London reservoir. He’d been targeting a water in Northampton, but poor weather put him off the longer journey and sessions.
On his first trip to the London venue, he’d managed a few decent doubles so returned a few days later. Fishing fake caster hookbaits over a mixture of pellets, hemp, and casters, he’d landed a handful of low doubles to 13lb 14oz before having a ripping take. James thought a carp was the culprit but was overjoyed to see a his biggest-ever bream slip over the net.
Well done James!
