Having started a bream campaign on a new lake earlier this year, but with little to show for his efforts, James Champkin was feeling dejected. That was until last weekend when he managed this fantastic 16lb slab.
The Milton Keynes based angler had hoped to get amongst the fish early in the year, but when they spawned early, he decided on a mini-campaign this autumn. Targeting a gravel bar 75-yards out, James fed a large bed of halibut pellets, particles, corn and broken boilies. Over the top, he cast method feeders, wrapped in Marina Halibut Method Mix. Hookbaits were 12mm boilies tipped with plastic corn. James added another bream of 12lb 13oz along with a couple of gate-crashing carp thrown in for good measure.
Well done James!
