Coventry Fishery Officer Jake Davoile made headlines recently with an 8lb 12oz Lea Chub – and has since enjoyed more success on the same river.
Jake won a weekly Drennan award last month with the gargantuan Chub, and has since wisely invested in a Series 7 Specialist Avon Quiver 12ft 1.25lb rod to replace his trusty old Sportex rod:-
“I tried the rod and reel out last week. Simply awesome! I arrived to find the river up, coloured and very pacey. I tried lots of new areas and managed to catch a 5.2 and a 5.4 in tough conditions, which I was really pleased with. I was even more pleased with the balance and strength of the Avon rod and FD400 reel. Although hooked in slack areas, both fish had to be netted right in the main flow and the gear stood up to the test. Quality.”
