Coventry’s Jake Davoile with a spectacular River Lea Chub winning him a weekly Drennan Award in Angling Times recently!
The huge specimen weighed 8lb 12oz and is one of the biggest reported Chub of the 2012-13 season to date. Fishery Officer Jake, caught the fish with roving quivertip tactics, using a Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hook baited with cheesepaste. The fish was played to the net with a Sportex rod.
“I struck into the bite and was met with incredible power as the fish did its best to find sanctuary in various snags” explained Jake.
