Cheshire specialist Ian Fallows with a 31lb 5oz Pike from a Northern Stillwater, winning a weekly Drennan Cup award in Angling Times last week.
The spectacular Pike is the culmination of a 40 year quest for a 30lb+ English fish – and coming after a colossal investment in time and travelling is a most deserving reward.
Ian is wearing his smart ‘Limited Edition’ Drennan Cup Winner’s cap – (awarded to those winning a weekly Drennan Cup award for the first time) having previously caught a 33lb Northern Irish Pike in 2009.
The big predator fell to a float legered sea deadbait fished in deep water, fished on 18lb mainline to 30lb Drennan wire and size 4 trebles.
