Drennan Sales Agent Mike Davidson recently set a new personal best chub from the Thames weighing an impressive 7lb 10oz!

“It was a new personal best for me by 6 ounces, a personal best I had been trying to up before the season finished. The fish came first cast on a short hour session after spending 10 minutes flicking in small pieces of bread. This session I also finished with two other chub over just over 5lb and a 7lb bream. 

“I had fished the swim six times over the last month or so with only one chub of 5lb 13oz to show for my efforts, but I just had a hunch it could produce something much bigger. I’m glad I stuck it out!”

The simple, but successful tactics were link legered bread flake with a 12ft Drennan Acolyte Ultra Feeder rod in conjunction with 2lb 6oz Supplex Fluorocarbon hooklength and a size 6 Specimen hook.
