Having made an early start to avoid strong winds and rain, Harry Waudby was rewarded with this superb perch of 4lb 4oz from a North Yorkshire river.

He found the waterway running low and clear, but that didn’t deter the fish, as he hooked the specimen in the third swim of the morning on a stick bait. It took his lure at close range, giving him a glimpse of the fish right away, which filled Harry with adrenaline throughout what he describes as a ‘terrifying’ fight. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and he was relieved to slip the net under the new PB.
Well done Harry!
