The roach are feeding well on the Loughborough Canal, according to Drennan Leicester team man and England Veteran squad member Roger Marlow.
The popular Leicestershire waterway has recently been selected to replace the Crowle section of the Stainforth & Keadby Canal for an upcoming northern leg of the Angling Trust Semi Finals.
Roger used bloodworm and joker on the Hawes Plant Hire section to amass a tidy 15lb bag of mostly quality roach – with some nudging 1lb.
“I think the canal should fish really well for the Semi Final,” Roger commented. “They are using all of the pegs in practice opens, rather than hammering the same pegs every week as has happened in previous years.”
