“I started off only catching small ‘wasps’ and trout, but with two hours left, I had a few casts by the famous water tower,” he told us. “I flicked a small shad right by the tower and let it sink 20ft. After a few flicks it was hit like a steam train, with line stripping from the reel. My legs went to jelly and panic mode hit, but I eventually guided it to the net. What a day.”
