After hearing about some big rudd in his local area, young Fenland specimen angler George Nice headed down to a local stretch and tempted fish of 2lb 5oz and this 3lb 1oz specimen.
The 14-year-old used corn for bait, and after flicking out a few grains he got the fish competing. Fishing a single grain on a size 14 hook below a float, George had the 2lb 5oz fish on his very first cast – his first PB of the trip. Shortly after he hooked something he immediately knew was bigger and was soon slipping the net under a second best of the session in the shape of the 3lb 1oz fish.Well done George!
