George Mason has spent many years fishing Grafham Water, but his target of a 15lb zander had always eluded him, well that was until recently, when he landed this 17lb 10oz specimen.
The fish gave a subtle bite in 50ft of water on George’s vertical jig approach, and he hit into what felt an immovable object. Eventually, he had the fish of bottom and steadily drew it to the waiting net.
It’s the largest zander caught at Grafham this season, and George says it almost made his heart stop when it surfaced!
Well done George!
