Having been a lifelong pike angler, Gary Clarke was recently hit with a drive to fish for zander and had a great result last week, landing this 16lb 10oz fish.
He fished the River Trent, where he presented a small, three-inch roach deadbait on a paternoster rig and received a shy bite. The fish fought well, and left Gary ‘blown away’ when it surfaced.
In the build-up to the catch, Gary’s done loads of work behind the scenes, and was pleased that his efforts have paid off with this fish. In the same session, he added one of 11lb 4oz.
Well done Gary!
