On a weekend trip to the Thames, Gareth James found conditions improving, with air temperature rising and the water clarity increasing.
He started the day targeting a slack in which he missed a take, so he returned to the area just before dusk. This time, his strike was met with firm resistance, and he landed a two-pounder which was swiftly followed by this 4lb 10oz fish – his new PB. They were both taken on the ever-popular Ned Rig – a soft plastic lure that’s generally fished slowly along the bottom.
Well done Gareth!
