It’s fair to say that the River Trent has been on fire this season, and things are only getting better after Nottingham angler Gareth Bradshaw..
..landed this 19lb 4oz barbel – the biggest reported from the river so far.
Fishing at Gunthorpe Lock Fishery, Gareth had a twitchy bite on his legered halibut pellet and suspected weed or a bream to be the culprit. However, when he hit into the fish, he was shocked to be met with powerful lunges. For 20 minutes Gareth battled the fish, and when he finally landed it he was ‘thrilled to bits’. It was his second day on the spot and having caught nothing up to the point landing the PB was all the more special.
Well done Gareth!
