A brilliant fishing day was held at Hillview Lakes in Gloucestershire yesterday, with fish aplenty and smiles all around!
This was the first Family Fun Fishing Day of its kind organised by Tony Miessner and Severn Vale Housing Society. It was held at the amazing Hillview Lakes and was a great opportunity for Tewkesbury residents to sample the joys of fishing for the first time.
The fish were really hungry and plentiful with lots of carp and F1 hybrids of all sizes being netted, plus other species such as roach, rudd and gudgeon. Tony and his team of experts offered excellent guidance and our very own Dan Varney and Jon Arthur were also there to lend a hand.
Every single angler caught plenty of fish. There was even a mini competition at the end, with trophies and prizes for everyone, kindly donated by Drennan International, Travis Perkins, the Angling Trust, Angling Direct and Fosters of Birmingham, followed by some well-earned food and drink!
A massive thanks has to go out to Hillview Lakes for supporting this event and Tony Miessner and Severn Vale Housing Society for organising it all.
