France have won the 22nd Ladies World Championship after a dominant performance on the Charleroi-Brussels Canal in Ronquières, Belgium.
The team, consisting of Valerie Nadan, Lucie Parise, Pauline Nervet, Isabelle Hawryhuk and Carole Guidez, managed to win both days to give them a convincing 41-point winning total.
Second-placed Netherlands were some way behind on 55 points, with Belgium and Poland both on 56 points.
After a disappointing first day, the English ladies, consisting of Helen Dagnall, Wendy Locker, Julie Abbott, Sam Sim, Abbi Kendall and Kayleigh Smith, pulled themselves up to 6th place on Day Two.
Three anglers tied individually on a maximum two section wins but it was the Netherlands Anja Groot who claimed the gold medal with a 8.154kg total weight. Sabrina Mertens from Belgium took the silver medal with France’s Valerie Nadan taking bronze.
