In-form Drennan Bordon teamster Anthony Flint racked up back-to-back weekend match wins at Kent’s Monk Lakes complex.
Despite incurring a 16lb weight deduction after going overweight in one of his keepnets during Saturday’s Open, Anthony’s 280lb total comprising of carp to 7lb and big F1s from peg 73 on Lake 2 was still clear of the runner-up.
The following day was another triumph for Anthony, he picked up 194lb 4oz of carp, barbel and skimmers peg 47 on Lake 2 to finish equal first with Pete Goodman.
“After Saturday’s match, it showed how important it is to constantly feed the margins, little and often, with pellets, for as long as possible before fishing there. This allows the fish to gain confidence, and you can easily double your weight in the last two hours,” advised Anthony.
“Sunday was a very windy day, so if you can’t hold a pole rig steady, fish a bomb over your long pole line. Don’t waste time trying to battle the elements – get straight onto the bomb!”
