Drennan Team England have won the Betway Fish’O’Mania International Challenge!
The team, made up of Des Shipp and Will Raison, were in front from the first weigh-in on Arena Pool at Cudmore Fisheries in Staffordshire to claim the £10,000 first prize.
Starting on the short pole with chopped worm and caster tactics brought a mixed net of mostly skimmers and roach plus the occasional bonus carp, before moving onto a 13m long-pole swim on the bottom, again with worms. Will also managed some sizeable carp down the margins late on, including the biggest fish of the day, worth £1,000, which weighed in at 4.2kg.
After five entertaining hours filmed live on Sky Sports, the duo were comfortable winners with a 42.77kg total weight. This is now the fourth year running that Team England have won the Fish’O’Mania International!
In second place was the Netherlands on 27.9kg, with newcomers Poland taking third with 26.19kg.
