Drennan Team England managers Mark Downes and Steve Sanders have selected an experienced side for Day 1 of the 64th World Freshwater Angling Championships on the Charleroi-Brussels Canal on Saturday, September 9th.
Five times World Champion Alan Scotthorne, fellow former winners Will Raison and Sean Ashby, plus current World No.1 ranked individual Steve Hemingrey and Des Shipp are the chosen five.
The unfortunate squad member to miss out on the first day is Callum Dicks.
The draw for sections on the evening before the contest’s curtain raiser saw England’s men placed as follows: Alan Scotthorne. B. William Raison. C. Steve Hemingrey. D. Des Shipp. E. Sean Ashby.
The final day’s practice session in heavy rain saw Alan take the squad’s best catch with over 6Kg including a bream plus several quality roach.
