Gold Valley lakes near Aldershot was once again the venue for the 2017 EIC London region fishing day, now in its fifteenth year.
Seventy-five anglers booked in for the event which was pegged on Gold, Middle and Bungalow lakes.
“Although the day started off overcast and drizzly, the sun eventually broke through and by the time the Hog roast was ready it was lovely and warm.
“The introduction of F1s into the lakes meant that there were plenty of bites for everyone, especially on Middle lake. There was also plenty of good size Carp caught from all three lakes, including several in low double figures.”
Prizes were awarded for 1st and 2nd in each section along with the biggest fish of the day which went to Jamie Maddox for a 13lb carp and the biggest weight of silverfish fish went to Keith Arthur with 32lb.
There was also a big raffle with countless prizes including a days one to one coaching with Dean Barlow.
“It was a great day enjoyed by all and we raised £3,500 for the EIC. Thank you to all the electrical manufacturers who donated and Drennan, Stewart Lister and Oakwood Angling for their continued support. Thank you also to Ryan Young, Lee Woolaway, Peter Bonnington for your help on the day again, John Raison and Angela at Gold Valley Lakes, Nyama catering and Sarah and Charlotte from the EIC.”
