London angler Ed Zneimer kindly sent us this photo of a 3lb 7oz Great Ouse Perch caught just recently on simple floatfished Lobworms!
Ed fished on a private stretch of the river and caught over 20 Perch on the day in question, using Lobworms fished under a Drennan Loafer float and a size 6 Super Specialist hook. The rod used was the Drennan Compact Tench Float 13ft – “I love the rod and the forgiving action proves ideal to combat the juddering, head shaking surges of the perch. In addition I have caught Carp to 15lb and Barbel to 7lb on it – although I have struggled to catch any proper tench (over 3lb) this season; however it’s probably not the rod’s fault! It really does make a difference to the enjoyment of fishing to use such quality rods – the feel, look and action make fishing even more pleasurable!” Ed told us.
