Top specimen angler and British Perch record holder Neill Stephen has sent us this super photo of his E-Sox Piker Bait 12ft Rods, fishing a vast stillwater over the Christmas Period!

Neill has recently purchased the rods and kindly gave us the following feedback:-

“I found the rods had loads of power which pleasantly surprised me given their light feel. I was casting a whole large mackerel around 60 yards on one rod with relative ease, and they did a great job of setting hooks at range on a bait that had been sent out much further by boat. They are definitely towards the ‘manly’ end of the spectrum!

I caught a handful of doubles during the session and there was still a good bend in the rod when playing them with plenty of feel, so despite the power they are far from pokers. They were a touch too much for close range live-baiting, when I prefer a softer rod, but that’s great as rods shouldn’t try to compromise and do everything. I shouldn’t say this but they really look great as well, and I love the blank’s finish and the clone seat.

I think Drennan have done a great job of producing a really impressive deadbait rod that’s as good as anything I have used, and I am really happy I chose them.”
