Drennan’s Ian Brooker has spent the last two winters in search of a really big Chub, and with just two days before the river season was due to close he hit the jackpot. Fishing for a few hours after work in cold, foggy conditions he managed one Chub but wasn’t complaining with this fish of 7lb1oz.

The fish came to his usually tactics of Series 7 Avon/Quiver rods, FD Reels & 8lb Supplex with a simple running rig & large bow of line to reduce resistance even further. Bait was once again an Oxford Carp Baits Orange Crème Boilie with a PVA mesh bag containing a few freebies.
