Drennan’s Ian Brooker has continued his purple patch with yet another specimen fish – this time a 6lb 14oz Chub!
Ian managed to time his first Chub session of the season with the River Thames briefly dropping within its banks. Fishing for just a couple of hours after dusk with the river still pushing through he decided to fish just a rod length out in a big slack that produced just one bite; but he wasn’t complaining when this 6lb 14oz Chub picked up his paste-wrapped boilie hookbait!
The fish was tamed on 8lb Supplex mainline and a running rig with a 6lb Fluorocarbon Flyleader hooklength and a size 10 Kamasan Barbel Maxx hook.
