The Drennan Team England squads for 2015 have been officially announced.
The team will compete in four major events this year as they attempt to win gold at the World Championship in Slovenia, defend their European Championship title in Belarus and their Fish ‘O’ Mania International title on home soil. The team will also compete in a reinstated Home International event which this year will be held in Ireland.
Making his debut at full senior level in the European Championship will be Matt Godfrey. The extremely talented angler fishes for Drennan Barnsley and is already a three-time World Junior Champion who has also just taken individual honours in the Sensas Challenge Final.
England co-manager Mark Addy commented, “Matt is an outstanding young angler, we have been monitoring his progress for some time and Mark Downes and I both feel we must get him involved at senior level as quickly as possible.”
After a break from the match angling calendar, the Home International will also provide managers Mark Addy and Mark Downes an opportunity to blood new talent with former Under 23s James Dent, Matt Derry and Cameron Hughes all making senior debuts.
