The latest round of the Drennan Silverfish League held at Rycroft Fishery ended up a nice tight contest. Improved weather conditions meant the skimmers and roach fed more freely and some quality perch also turned up.
Leading the way was Phil Turner who had 19lb 14oz from peg 13 on the Carp Lake. He fished short with loose fed casters and found some quality perch plus a good bream before moving onto his 13m groundbait line where he picked off skimmers on maggots and worms.
Runner-up on the same lake from peg 8 was Darran Bickerton who used similar tactics for 18lb 8oz. Third place was league leader Sean Ashby with 17b 4oz from peg 22 on Donno Lake. He had a nice day catching 83 roach on loose fed casters long and short. That helped maintain Sean’s lead in the overall league with 141lb 12oz, some way ahead of Darran on 110lb 12oz.
