With a rise in temperature the lakes at Derbyshire’s Rycroft Fishery fished a lot better for Round 8 of this popular silverfish series.

Although weights were not spectacularly high there were fish caught throughout and a very tight top three on the day.

Leading the way was ever consistent John Eccles on Donno Lake peg 24. The Long Eaton AS matchman fished waggler and loose fed maggots for 13lb 8oz of roach and hybrids. Just 6oz behind was Dave Lawrence (Mill Tackle) on Carp Lake peg 2 who fished long pole with chopped worm and casters for mainly skimmers. Another 2oz behind was Shakespeare’s Alistair Chisholm on peg 13 with a level 13lb of skimmers.

In the league standings, Sean Ashby still leads with a 107lb 4oz total ahead of John Eccles’ 99lb 4oz and Darran Bickerton’s 95lb 12oz.
