The Drennan North-West Match team fished their Winter League Northern Semi Final at Garbolino Lindholme Lakes in Yorkshire last week, and won the match convincingly! The team produced four section winners, one second and two thirds to total 75 points, nine clear of the 2nd placed team. In addition, recently crowned Kamasan Matchman of the Year Andy Bennett won the match outright for the team, leading a field of 90 anglers, to cap a really outstanding day!

Andy fished peg 8 on the Willows Lake to bag 50.78 kilos of carp to 5lb and F1s, by fishing Pellet on the pole both out at 14 metres, and down the edge at 6m, winning the match by nearly 13 kilos. Special credit also to Stu Conroy, Richard O’Connor and Colin Mayor, who also achieved crucial section wins to help the team to glory.

Stu told us the team will be a real danger to all the other finalists in the forthcoming final at Partridge Fishery near Warrington in August!
