Stu Raynor won the second round of the Drennan Coors Trent Masters with 10lb 14oz of roach.
A total of 69 anglers competed on a River Trent that was several inches higher than normal and pushing hard. Matchman Supplies backed Stu fished waggler and bronze maggot on peg 1 on the Bailey’s section. Fishing just past the middle he kept a steady stream of small roach coming for a great double-figure bag.
Runner-up was Pete Hamilton (Mill Tackle) who drew below the weir at Bailey’s. He fished a mixture of stick float and waggler tactics with maggots for 9lb 10oz of mostly roach and small chub, but lost four big chub in the weed.
Third was Matt Parkin (Kamasan Starlets) on the Ferry Bridge who fished long pole with maggots over groundbait for a 2lb chub plus a mixed bag for 9lb 4oz.
Peter Sturmey kindly donated the trophy for this charity match in aid of dementia.
