The Drennan Bordon team had the pleasure of being invited down to their local MBK Leisures fishery last Friday evening as special guests and helpers for their latest junior match.

It was held at the Pump Station, Greatham, Hampshire, and run by father and daughter, Ken and Kendra Wright, along with invaluable help from Clair Prior and Kev Freeman, together with other volunteers. These junior matches are very popular, with three age groups to go at: Under 9s, 9-12 Years and 13-17 Years – so they cater for all ages and all are welcome!

Drennan Bordon Captain, Steve Barnett, commented: “To see so many young anglers enjoy the sport was a breath of fresh air. It takes you back to when we were young and how we all started in this sport! I would like to thank Ken and Kendra for inviting our Drennan Bordon team down and for all the hard work that they and all the MBK helpers do for the youngsters in the local area! Giving our support was the least we could do!

“The support that MBK give to all the youngster is invaluable, giving tackle and helping them all! Every youngster went home happy having caught and also went home with a prize. A lot were given tackle that has been passed on from local senior anglers, old gear that we all take for granted – so if anyone has any tackle that they no longer need, please contact MBK Leisures. They will make sure that’s its put to good use and given to the juniors!”

Sport on the evening was good with all the youngster enjoying the match. MBK Leisures would like to thank their special guests, Drennan Bordon team members: Steve, Shaun, Matt Barnett, Mark Eves, Ian Dixon, Graeme Aggar, Ben McGrath and Alex Clements.
