In a hectic 24-hour session, Dean Macey made the most of a swim packed with fish and landed two bream of 16lb 8oz, plus one of 12lb 8oz.
The former decathlete had a small window of opportunity and headed to a stillwater where he fished two spots: one long, for bream; the other short, for tench. On the spot at range, he fed pellets and corn, over which he presented a 12mm wafter hookbait alongside a PVA bag of pellets. On his close-range spot, Dean fed maggots, chopped worms, hemp and pellets, and fished a worm kebab hookbait.
He was into fish from the off on the short-range swim, landing tench to 9lb 8oz, plus a few carp. It was on his long rod where things really kicked off though, with three bites out of the blue producing his three big bream.
Well done Dean!
