Arriving at the lake, he found the water the colour of coffee after the nearby river had breached its banks and spilled in. Although not ideal, Dean fancied his chances, figuring that the extra water should be warm, and that the colour would give him an extra chance of a daytime bite. Feeding 10 spombs of corn, pellet and chopped boilies, he presented two rods over the top with trimmed-down 12mm wafter hookbaits. After a run of early tench to 7lb, he introduced a bit more bait and managed a bream of around 10lb. Dean decided not to top up the feed again, figuring he’d have enough on the spot for one more bite. A few hours later it came, and he slid the net under this two-tone fish, that he says ‘got bigger and bigger’ as it neared the bank.
Well done Dean!
