After an unsuccessful three-day trip to the rivers of Scotland due to freezing conditions, David Pearson returned in slightly warmer weather and was rewarded with a brace of three-pound grayling.

His first fish fell to a worm hookbait, trotted beneath a homemade elder pith float, and weight a superb 3lb 1oz. After losing a few others, he had some lunch before hitting the water again and hooking a hard fighting fish, again on a worm.
An epic battle followed, and with his heart pounding, David slipped the net under this specimen of 3lb 4oz. Heavy rains fell that afternoon, and David was greeted by temperatures of -5C the next morning. But after that first day’s fishing, he didn’t mind!
Well done David!
