Yorkshire isn’t known for big rudd, but Darren Starkey has highlighted the county’s potential with this impressive 3lb 4oz specimen.
It was caught from a stillwater in North Yorkshire and is likely the largest example of the species ever landed from the region. Darren had the fish on waggler tactics, fishing in a 10ft-deep swim and where he fed maggots boosted with sweet liquids from the Dynamite Baits range. He was fishing ‘on the drop’, with just a few No. 8 shot pinched down his line, but took this fish on the deck, just after his double maggot hookbait had settled.
Well done Darren!
