Darrell Carter landed his best perch of the season in the shape of this clonking 4lb 3oz specimen.

Targeting a Lea Valley syndicate, Darrell used a craw imitation fished on a cheb rig to tempt the stripy. After twitching his lure slowly across the bottom the perch put up a hard fight, as Darrell explains: “The fish took the bait in 10ft of water right under my rod tip, stripping braid from the reel like a pike!”
