Dan opted to fish 50 yards out and as soon as he struck, he knew right away it was a big roach, with the fish giving him a nervy battle – kiting and headshaking as it neared the bank. Dan fed a bed of groundbait, hemp and maggot, and fished white maggot on a short fluorocarbon hooklink over the top.
