Dan Woolcott certainly went the distance on a recent outing in search of some mighty grayling, but was rewarded in style when he banked a new personal best, in the shape of this stunning 3lb beauty.
Covering 450 miles during the 9 hour drive, Dan went on to spend 3 days at the Scottish river and bagged himself more than his fair share of the spoils, backing up the 3lb’er with further specimens of 2lb 12oz, 2lb 8oz & 2lb 2oz with lots of smaller ones thrown in to the mix.
He opted to trot maggots and worms with the tail nipped off, fished on a size 16 Acolyte Maggot Plus tied to 3.3lb Supplex Fluorocarbon Hooklinks.
Well done Dan!
