It took Kent specimen angler Dan Woolcott eight hours to reach the rivers of Scotland for a grayling trip, but his efforts were rewarded with this glorious 3lb 3oz fish.
The fish was taken during a challenging three-day trip, where he faced temperatures down to a Baltic -9c. But, on the final day, he was rewarded with the specimen he was after.
It was caught on half a dendrobaena worm which he trotted beneath a loafer float.
The powerful rivers of Scotland are no place for light tackle, so Dan used a size 14 hook and an Acolyte Specimen Float Rod which had the backbone to stop the fish in the strong flow.
Well done Dan!
