Chris Carlyle caught this huge 3lb 9 oz specimen from a local match water after feeding a special ‘compost’ groundbait mix.

He caught the impressive fish on lobworm over chopped worm, krill, compost groundbait and red maggots using a Drennan Bobber float, Supplex line and a size 10 Specimen Plus hook.

“I just mix the compost the worms come in with krill groundbait and liquid worm,” he explained. “Neil at my local Apache Angling gave me the tip. It gets the small fry going, which attracts the perch.”
