Famous Norfolk specialist angler, author and artist Chris Turnbull with a 3lb 4oz Perch.
Whilst visiting family in the South, Chris and his brother Malcolm joined Tony King and Lee Chatfield on some trips to a Sussex commercial fishery.
The fishing proved more difficult than anticipated, with the Perch largely refusing to play ball! However, on the first visit Chris managed an encouraging 2lb 9oz fish, followed the next day by a 2lb 6oz, and Malcolm taking a brace of ‘threes’ at 3lb and 3lb 4oz.
A few days later the lads returned in bright sunshine, and after a few modest Perch, Chris saw his Drennan Loafer float bury, and this 3lb 4oz specimen was the result!
Tackle used include two 12 ft Drennan Series 7 Avon rods, rigged up with 4 Swan Drenna Loafter floats, on 5 lb bs Specimen Plus mainlines tied to 5lb Supplex hook links to size 4 Kamasan Wide Gape Specialist hooks baited with King Prawns and Red Maggots.
The Drennan Loafer float is a long established Perch anglers favourite! Click here for full details.
