Norfolk angler Chris Turnbull was delighted with this cracking Crucian Carp, since it is the first true Crucian he has caught in his home county for over 15 years!  The fish weighed in at 2lb 2oz and though not a monster, was a “perfect peach of a fish”.

Chris used a Drennan Matchpro Ultralight 14ft float rod teamed with a Series 7 Float reel loaded with 4lb Supplex line.

“After three years of using the rod I am still amazed at how soft its action is and this made it perfect for fishing the margins under the rod tip. Being that my swim was basically a gap between two beds of lilies I had to play anything I hooked hard to keep them out the roots and the 4lb Supplex proved well up to the task. It now looks like I could be doing a fair bit of crucian fishing this summer and I never thought I’d say that again.” Explained Chris.
