A single bite at 3:30am has accounted for one of the biggest eels of the season in the form of this fantastic 5lb 15oz specimen.
The fine leviathan was banked by 31-year-old Supply Chain manager Chris Mason who fished the classic approach of lobworms on a Dyson rig over a bed of chopped worms, during an overnight session on a Midlands gravel pit.
Chris said: “I’ve struggled to get out this season but felt like the weather was right for it the weekend and managed to get a quick overnighter in.
“I only had the one run which resulted in the big eel, which beat my old personal by 2oz.”
