Drennan Team England manager, Mark Downes, is seeking talented young anglers to apply for the England Under 23s trials next month.
Anglers are to be assessed on their pole fishing skills in a trial on the Gloucester Canal on Saturday, 12th April, 2014.
Urging youngsters to apply, Mark commented: “The FIPSed under 23s World Championship is due to be staged on a big canal at Assen in the Netherlands on the 25th and 26th of July, 2014. I’ll be choosing a squad to represent the sponsors, Drennan International and the Angling Trust.
“The assessment will be pole only, and I’ll be looking for anglers to work two lines, the first at five to six metres, and a long line at 13 metres. The trial will be fished to full international rules, available from the FIPSed website.”
Anyone wishing to apply for an assessment trial must complete a trial form. These are available from the Angling Trust’s Competitions & Events Manager, Sandra Drew, by emailing her at [email protected] or by telephone on 01159 061 301.
Completed forms must be returned by no later than Tuesday, 1st April, 2014.
