Young Oxford angler Bruno Rogers has sent us this photo of a sensational Roach caught from the River Thames last Winter.
Bruno cleverly targeted an area where ducks regularly get fed bread, and as evening fell he cast a simple leger rig comprising a 3 Swan Link Leger to a Drennan Polemaster Fluorocarbon hooklength and a Wide Gape Specialist hook baited with a piece of Flake. He also squeezed a little flake around the Shot to introduce feed in immediate proximity to the hookbait – good tactics!
The huge Roach weighed an astonishing 3lb 1oz and appeared in Angling Times at the time!
